Sian Griffiths
Professor Sian
Griffiths, OBE is President of the Faculty of Public Health Medicine.
She is also a Consultant Public Health Physician at the Oxford Radcliffe
Hospital, Senior Fellow/Senior Clinical Lecturer in Public Health
at Oxford University, and Visiting Professor at Oxford Brookes University.
She has had a long career in service public health, having been
Director of Public Health at regional and district levels. She has
always been actively engaged in national public health and is currently
Chair of Pharmacy Healthlink, Board Member of the New Opportunities
Fund, Board Member of the Health Protection Agency, a member of
the National Cancer Taskforce and the Cross Taskforce Prevention
Group, amongst other commitments. At a local level she is involved
in several local charities. Her main interests have been in developing
public health practice to address the wider determinants of health
and in priority setting within the NHS.
